Unleashed: The Moment I Chose Freedom

“I refuse to spend my final days wondering what could have been. When I’m 90 and on my deathbed, I’ll be the one telling stories to the nurses—about the risks I took, the adventures I embraced, and the moments that made life unforgettable.”
— Charles Wilson

Sitting in a camper deep in the Medicine Bow National Forest with six dogs by my side, I often ask myself, How did I get here? The answer takes me back to the end of 2022.

For years, I felt stuck in a cycle of routine—work, home, repeat—watching time slip away faster than I could grasp. Life felt like it was on autopilot, and before I knew it, the years had blurred together. I realized that if I didn’t make a change, I’d wake up decades later, regretting a life spent merely existing rather than truly living. That moment of clarity set me on a path to something bigger—embracing the unknown, hitting the road, and rediscovering life on my own terms.

For those considering a similar journey, a How-To Guide will be available soon in paperback and Kindle, offering practical insights into life on the road with dogs. Stay tuned!
